Once my husband got some pedals from a flower shop that were just going to thrown away (they were from wilting flowers or pedals that fell on the floor), made me dinner by candle light and played soft music. It was so romantic and barely cost him a thing. Another time, we went and had a picnic at the beach. The only thing we really paid for was the gas to get there and of course the food from our kitchen. Leave notes in his lunch bag. Lay a blanket outside on the grass and look up at the stars at night. Make a CD that has songs on it that remind you of your relationship. Etc, etc., etc. there are so many special little things you can do that mean so much. Have fun!

Make him his favorite meal and have it at your house by candlight, watch a movie and give him a massage.
or
go out to a park and walk or play tennis or play a sport that he likes to play…or even kick a ball around…or do something active…or take him to the batting cages. (my hubby loves the batting cages) Not very romantic in your eyes…but I would think a man would think it was very thoughtful just like we would think a candlelight dinner was very thoughtful.
